It's the last day of August 2015, and we finally, after struggle and strife, have begun the Hatay Sessions in the Narlica Community Centre, run by Hayata Destek and UNHCR.

They've given us 12 young Syrians - six boys six girls between 13 and 16 years of age. We did the usual games, drawings and introductions, then watched the Batman Sessions. Some of them got it, some of them didn't.

The two groups - Syrians and Yazidis are completely different. Their environment, their culture, their attitudes are completely different, and it'll be interesting to see how these guys react to being filmed, to acting, and to basically working together..

There's the usual cockiness from the boys, and there are two sisters who are as thick as thieves. But as with anything, in these types of project making, always expect the unexpected and see what comes..

There will be surprises for sure...
